Tuesday
Beautiful day here!!! Unfortunately, I didn't exercise. Hopefully, better news tomorrow. I'm taking my mom and dad to the Centerville Fair tomorrow afternoon. I'll have to exercise to work off that Elephant Ear!
Monday
Brisk 30 minute walk in nieghborhood Monday evening. Didn't stop to talk to anyone. I saw some neighbors in their driveway when I stepped outside, so I walked in the other direction so I wouldn't get hung up talking. I felt a little un-neighborly and almost turned around, but knew I wouldn't get my exercise in if I did that. I'm learning to set boundaries!
It was a beautiful night!

Just Made It
Friday: 15 minutes walking/jogging on treadmill, 15 minutes on bike.
Saturday: Same as above. I didn't exercise until 6 p.m. tonight and only did it (once again) b/c of this blog. I guess it's turning out to be a good accountability partner!

Oops! I forgot to post yesterday! I walked 2 minutes on treadmill, jogged 10, walked 2, jogged 13 and walked the final 3.
No exercise today :( I was going to ride my bike this morning, but got busy with other things. Then it rained on and off the rest of the day.
I HAVE to exercise tomorrow and Sat. to get in my 5 days this week.

Yes, I Did Exercise on Monday!
I rode my bike at 8:34 last night. It was dark and I just stayed in my neighborhood. I rode for 20 min. b/c I had to be back so the aide could leave. Was going to finish the last 10 minutes right after she left, but forgot and ate some ice cream with crushed p-nuts, did some laundry, checked my email, looked at the paper. I was getting ready to go to bed and remembered I had 10 minutes to finish. I was tempted to let it go, but b/c of this dear blog and my dear followers, I knew I had to do it. I rode the exercise bike for 10 minutes, thus getting in my 30 min. for the day.

Thank God for Beautiful Weather!
It was such a gorgeous day! I rode my bike for 50 minutes. Varied my route slightly: Rode all the way down Lover's Lane to Garden Lane, then on to Celery Flats and rode the Bicentennial Trail home. I'm working harder and not switching to the low gears as often. I can feel some muscle developing in my thighs; they're the quadriceps (I Googled it). That's a good feeling.

I almost didn't exercise today, but knew I needed to get in that last 30 minutes for the week. I planned to bike ride earlier in the day, but it rained. I put off my workout until after dinner, then I rode the exercise bike for 15 minutes and went out and walked in the mist (it was great!) for 15 minutes.
I completed my 30 minutes/5 days this week and I feel good! Now I need to work on my food consumption! I'm consuming too much, that is; and quite a bit of junk. I think I'll start working on that on Monday!

Jogged 12 minutes (figured that was a mile; I was going pretty slowly this morning), walked 3 minutes, jogged 3 minutes, walked 4 minutes, jogged 5 minutes, walked 3 minutes. Now do the math. Did I make my 30 minute goal? :)
I didn't feel like jogging, but the interval thing made it easier and I got a better workout than just walking. Nothing wrong with "just" walking. I'm trying to keep my exercise level up after running the 5k at the beginning of Aug. It's been a struggle since then.

I got in bed last night and realized I had not posted anything for yesterday. I rode my bike on the Bicentennial Trail for 50 minutes. My route is from our house up to Celery Flats and back. Yesterday was the 3rd or 4th time I've done it. It had taken me an hour. Yesterday I pushed a little harder and cut off 10 minutes. I'm definitely feeling it in my thighs (not sure what muscles those are). My upper knees have been a little sore, too.
This morning I jogged for 25 minutes straight and then walked for about 8 more. I didn't feel like jogging, but I haven't done it in a while and thought I'd better keep those muscles in shape. I took a timer with me so I could keep track of my progress. I find I need any motivational device I can come up with. It did help me challenge myself to "go 1 more minute" or "1 more block".
Of course, I feel great after I exercise. And the weather has been SO nice it makes me want to be outside.

O.K., so I'm starting a blog! I got the idea yesterday while riding my bike. My plan is to use this for accountability for getting in at least 30 minutes of exercise a day (5 days/week).
I had planned on exercising when I first got up, but read the paper, did the daily crossword and did some laundry. I almost talked myself out of exercising, but finally got on my bike and rode about 10 miles. I loved it! It was a beautiful day; cool, crisp air, blue sky (mixed with clouds). I saw a few people I knew on the Bicentennial Trail. I had a wonderful time; and to think I almost talked myself out of it!
I'm not a very disciplined person, so I thought of this blog idea. I will post a short (or maybe not-so-short) entry each day that I exercise. It will motivate me (I hope) to put in my 30 minutes, since I've put this "out there".
